..."and a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the way of holiness; evil minded people shall not travel on it, but it shall be for those wayfarers who are traveling toward God. (Isaiah 35:8, adapted)

Deep Inside: E. Stanley Jones on Conversion

The conscious mind determines the actions,
the unconscious mind determines the reactions;
and the reactions are just as important
as the actions. Many Christians are Christians
in their actions--they don't lie, steal, commit
adultery, or get drunk; but they react badly to
what happens to them--they react in anger, bad
temper, self-pity, jealousy, and envy...
When the depths are held by the Holy Spirit,
then the reaction is Christian.

How interesting this is to me right now. I have been trying to reconcile some 'bad' behavior by some Christians that are suppose to be so Spiritual, yet they have tempers and anger and always calling others evil. It is what is happening deep inside someone that counts, because that deep will eventually rise to the surface. The LORD desires to cleanse us from the deep to the surface if we will but yield to Him and allow His Spirit to cleanse us from all unrighteousness!

Cathy, amen to that! I totally
get where you are at! May we allow the Spirit of God to really get into our depths and change us into the image of Christ!
