..."and a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the way of holiness; evil minded people shall not travel on it, but it shall be for those wayfarers who are traveling toward God. (Isaiah 35:8, adapted)

Spurgeon on the Old Gospel

There will be no new God, nor a new devil,
and we shall never have a new Savior, nor
a new atonement: why should we then be
either attracted or alarmed by the error
and nonsense which everywhere plead for a
hearing because they are new? What is their
newness to us; we are not children, nor
frequenters of playhouses? Truly, to such a
new toy or a new play has immense attractions;
but men care less about the age of a thing
than about its intrinsic value.

To suppose that theology can be new is to
imagine that the Lord himself is of yesterday.
A doctrine which is said to have lately become
true must of necessity be a lie. Falsehood has
no beard, but truth is hoary with an age
immeasurable.

The old gospel is the only gospel. Pity is
our only feeling towards those young preachers
who cry, “See my new theology,” in just the
same spirit as little Mary says, “See my
pretty new frock.”

Interesting, except that for most 'Christians' the gospel they think they've heard is a fraud and a fake. It was at one time new and foreign and has now become old since they've forgotten the original and never bothered to search the scriptures to see if what they've been taught is true.

Greetings Wayfarer!

I love Spurgeon's teachings; I have his Morning and Evening Devotional, as well as his Sermon Notes in a 4 vol. set.
I also admire the fact that you are a representative of the persecuted church.
I have V.O.M. web link on my own blog, and desire to become a part of their blogsphere, but am unable at this point as their web site is experiencing some tech probs.
However I do intend on joining, as I believe its important to know about, thus have the opportunity to pray for our fellow saints who are persecuted for righteousness sake.
May the LORD truly bless you... WAY TOO MUCH !!!
